More and more hype has been building around the eventual release of the iPhone 5 as we are all aware that Apple are not entirely happy with the current iPhone 4 model due to the Antenna problems that have arisen.
Looking back through the history of release date of the previous iPhone models I have come up with a realistic prediction as to when the iPhone 5 will be released.
So nearly 4 years back now we saw the first release of the original iPhone:
iPhone original release date: June 29th, 2007
Then just over 12 months later its successor is released:
iPhone 3G release date: July 11th 2008
As if by clockwork, just under 12 months later we the iPhone 3GS:
iPhone 3GS release date: June 19th 2009
Then 12 months on we the a major upgraded model, the iPhone 4:
iPhone 4 release date: June 24th, 2010
So that brings us to present day where we are eagerly awaiting details on the release date of the iPhone 5, due to the fact that the is the first model of iPhone where any major problems have emerged, I think Apple will be trying their hardest to resolve this and release a new model with none of the current iPhone 4 problems. After looking at previous release dates my prediction is as follows:
iPhone 5 release date: June 2nd 2011

This was a cool post, and I for the most part agree. However I actually do have a small challenge… I have owned an iPhone for a little over four years at the moment. And also I have last week upgraded to an iPhone 4. Even though I really like the iPhone ( most of the time), I downright despise AT&T. I don’t want to have to jailbreak the iPhone to make use of another provider, but if Apple stays in bed with AT&T for a longer time I’m going to have to switch to getting an Android phone. My own question is, do you really suppose Apple has got any sort of desires to open up the iPhone to other carriers in the near future? Particularly I would like to get one that includes true 4G phone coverage! Thanks!

My prediction for the iPhoe 5 release date will be around july time purely becuase the last iPHone was released around then. There is going to be sooooo many pissed people becuase most have only just got the iPhone 4 and there going to drop a new version out. The amount of money they are going to make off the iPhone 5 will be silly money!!!!!!
Hi…. Im only 12 years old and i have a really ugly phone … (nokia c3 ) … and i wanted to get an iphone 5 for my birthday on june the 1 st and wah is more important is that im going to be 13 so it would mean the wold to me if you can release the iphone a few days before my birthday x

there’s not really any point of getting the iphone 5 yet because the first additions always have problems :/
But won’t the tsunami in Japan have disrupted the manufacter of Apple parts that they use for their phones? causing the release date to be much later this year than expected?

Hi guys, just to let you know i work in Telecoms and from the information we have been given by Apple, is that they will be launching iphone 5 on June 21st. So don’t buy an iphone 4 yet (if you haven’t already got one,) they will be the same price as the 3gs on contract when the new model comes out.
I heard today from a reliable source that Apple plan to delay the iPhone 4 due to build issues, or something along those lines. Apple have confirmed they will not be announcing a new iPhone until September 2011. I’m planning to buy an iPhone 4 soon. I know it’s a little bit too late, but It doesn’t bother me. I cannot see the iPhone 5 having any major new features that means you need it instead of an iPhone 4. I’ll probably go from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6. XD
Oh, yes. To add to my above comment. Apple are delaying the iPhone 5 due to problems with their factories in Japan after the large earth quake hit there last month.

the reson why apple did not release it on the 6th of june is because they made a product called icloud which sends u wi-fi to any apple products that u have and i think its stupid cos u have wi-fi u just have to find the password that will let u acces wi-fi around your house
